Composition

Each 10 g syringe contains:

Penicillin G (Procaine)                 300000  IU

Dihydrostreptomycin (Sulfate)   300        mg

Dexamethasone                          1.5         mg

Oil base up to                              10          gr

Drug information

Strodex^® MC is an intramammary suspension specially formulated for the treatment of clinical mastitis in lactating cows only.

Strodex^® including betalactam antibiotic (Penicillin G) and aminoglycoside (Dihydrostreptomycin) is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Antibiotics in combination with dexamethasone as NSAID is more effective in treatment of mastitis against staphylococcus spp., streptococcus spp., corinebacterium spp., leptospira, Clostridium pyogenes , hemophillus, salmonella, brucella and campylobacter.

 

Indications

Treatment of clinical mastitis caused by micro-organisms sensitive to the active ingredients in lactating cows.

           

Dosage and Administration

For intramammary administration only.

The contents of one syringe should be infused into each quarter via the teat canal immediately after the final milking in lactation. Before infusion, the teat should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and care should be taken to avoid contamination of the injector nozzle.

After infusion, massage the contents up into the udder.

 

Precautions

• Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillin.
• Do not use in drying cows.

 

Withdrawal Periods

• Animals intended for human consumption should not be slaughtered until 7 days after the last treatment.
• Milk for human consumption may only be taken from 3 days after calving.
