Composition

Each 5 g syringe contains:

Ampicillin (as Ampicillin Sodium)       75   mg

Cloxacillin (as Cloxacillin Sodium)      200 mg

Oil base up to                                5    gr

Drug information

Masticlox^® MC is an intramammary suspension specially formulated for the broad spectrum treatment of clinical mastitis in lactating cows only.

Masticlox^® MC is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria including Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae and other streptococcal species, penicillin-resistant and penicillin-sensitive Staphylococci, Corynebacterium pyogenes and Escherichia coli.

Indications

Treatment of clinical mastitis caused by micro-organisms sensitive to the active ingredients in lactating cows.

                                                                                                                                      

Dosage and Administration

For intramammary administration only.

The contents of one syringe should be infused into each quarter via the teat canal immediately after milking at 12 hour intervals for three consecutive milkings. Before infusion, the teat should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and care should be taken to avoid contamination of the injector nozzle.

After infusion, massage the contents up into the udder.

 

Precautions

• Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillin or other substances of the betalactam group.
• Do not use in drying cows.

 

Withdrawal Periods

• Animals intended for human consumption should not be slaughtered until 7 days after the last treatment.
• Milk for human consumption may only be taken from 3 days after last treatment.

 

Storage Conditions

Store below 25^°C and protect from light and freezing.
